Woolfolk at Brandenburg, Meade County, Kentucky. Isaac McCrady was born August 17, 1841. Isaac fought in the Civil War in Company G, in the 26th Regiment, Kentucky Volunteers. He enlisted November 9, 1861 and was discharged at Wilmington, N.C., March 6, 1865. I learned some of the following information from his pension record. In the spring of 1862 he contracted measles. While recuperating from this his unit had to march all night in a snowstorm from Owensboro to Calhoun, Kentucky and he caught a bad cold, which resulted in an abscess of his lung. He had lung problems from then on and received a pension from the United States Government because of this. The pension number was 414.876 for him; 387.488 for America as his widow and 306.082 for their daughter, Sara Rose. Isaac was five foot ten inches tall and weighed 125 pounds on April 15, 1885. This information is from a physical he took for his pension. His physician’s name was James C. Lewis, M.D. Isaac died of pneumonia following chronic Tuberculosis Pulmonalis, November 13, 1885.
America and Isaac McCrady had a daughter, Sara Rose McCrady, born May 22, 1884. She married Charles W. “Charlie” Fisher. He was born about 1878 in Illinois. They moved to Blackwell, Kay County, Oklahoma. They had three children:

Isaac McCrady had been previously
married to Annie L. Drury, September 21, 1875 at Charlestown, Clark County,
Indiana. They had a daughter, Mattie Lena McCrady, who was born August
3,1876. Isaac and Annie were divorced
September 12, 1877. Annie’s father was Richard Z. Drury of 395 Vincennes St.,
New Albany, Floyd County, Indiana.
America Grimes McCrady married a third time to George H. Whitworth on March 18, 1889 in Louisville, KY. They were married by John M. McCarm. Witnesses were Mamie Sutor, Frank Sargent and Katie Craycroft. John M. McCarm was 24, she 38 years old. On Aug. 24, 1899 they lived at 2932 Ballard St., Louisville, Kentucky. They also kept a home in Grahampton (Grahamton), Meade County, Kentucky. There were no children from this marriage. America died Sept. 1, 1905 and is buried in the Garnettsville Cemetery, on highway 1638, which runs between Muldraugh and Brandenburg and is near Grahampton (Grahamton), all in Meade County, KY.
5.
Susan
Ellen Grimes. Susan was born Feb. 14, 1848 in Meade County Kentucky. She
died Sept. 24, 1933 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. She was buried Sept.
26 1933 in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Louisville, KY. This information was found on her death
certificate. She married first, George
Louis Straney (perhaps Lewis, his grandfather’s name), on Sept. 12, 1864 in
Hardin County, KY. Book D #249. She
married second, Jake (possibly Jacob) Brill in perhaps Bullitt County, KY. She
was married third to Joseph Pius Buckman (III?) perhaps in Louisville,
Jefferson County, KY.
Susan and her husband George Straney had three children:
a.
Martha Lee Straney was born Aug. 13, 1870 and christened
Feb. 27, 1871. This information is from
records of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Bullitt County, KY. (Editor’s note- St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Records,
1831-1920, published by Mary Magdalene Olson, lists George L. Straney and
Susan Ellen Graham [sic] as parents of Martha Lee Straney b. 13 Aug. 1870,
bapt. 27 Feb 1871. Spons. Sarah
Straney, St. Patrick’s was located at Stithton, Hardin County, Kentucky, and
those records are now housed in St. Brigid’s, Vine Grove, KY). A family source says she was born Aug. 13,
1869. She died (according to a family source) Nov. 7, 1892. She married George
Stocking.
b.
William Rhoena Straney (female) was christened July 2, 1876
at St. Clare Catholic Church, Colesburg, Hardin County, KY. She died Dec. 21,
1939 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. She is buried in Resthaven Cemetery.
Louisville, KY. This information is
from her death certificate. She married
first, George Stemple (family source). She married second, Robert L. Kendall
(death certificate). Dolores Yadon Kennedy lists “William Roenan, s/o George Louis Straney and Susan Ellen Graham,
b. 25 Apr. 1876, bpt. 2 July 1876 (marginal note, Pitts Point)” in her St.
Clare Record Book.
c.
Sarah (?) Vivian Straney was born Oct. 16, 1878 (death
certificate). She died July 29, 1962 in
Lyndon, Jefferson County, Kentucky. She
was buried July 31, 1962 in Resthaven Cemetery, Louisville, Jefferson County,
Kentucky. Her information is from her
death certificate and tombstone. There
is a state birth record that lists her birth in November 1878, but they also
list her parents as “Geo L.Straney and Ella S. Grimes”. Tom Young supposes this indicates that
someone other than the family reported the birth and probably
inaccurately. Vivian apparently
believed she was born in October and reported such in the 1900 census. Tom has
never found her name as Sarah in any record other than her death
certificate. She married first, Samuel
Henry Mossbarger, on July 29, 1893 in Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana. She married second, Charles Nelson
Louderback, Feb. 10, 1898 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. (Tom Young, whose wife is a descendant, listed this family.)

NOTE: When the twins were 11 years old, Marion climbed to the top of a tall
tree and fell out. He was hurt very badly, but he made his brother promise not
to tell his parents for fear that it would worry them. By the time Dr. Overall
was called, it was too late, and Marion died.
