Purchasing Books with PayPal

You may make purchases from the ATHS Bookstore using your debit or credit card by using PayPal to send your payment to booksales@aths.com. You will need to create a PayPal account and specify the "source of funding" you wish to use when making payments.

Be sure to make the proper selection for a payment method when filling out your order form. ATHS Members should always include your membership number when ordering from the book store.

In order to email money via the Internet, you will need to set up a personal account with PayPal. The service is free and you will have the option to use a major credit card or a debit account from your bank checking account. After you have registered and validated your account with PayPal services, you will be able to purchase items from the ATHS Bookstore by emailing money to: booksales@aths.com. You may also use the same email address if you have any questions about the bookstore.

The Book List and Shopping Cart

The booklist is where you select your items and add them to the shopping cart. You can review your cart any time during the selection procedure and return to the list using the appropriate links. When you add an item to your cart, you will then be asked for the quantity you desire and returned to the list automatically. After making all selections, review your cart and ensure you see all the items you want.

You may need to refresh the shopping cart web page to update it and see all items selected. Most browsers will cache the web page last visited.

The shopping cart is used to generate your order for any purchases. You have the option to add or delete from the cart any time by using the appropriate links. After making your selections, you can proceed to the order form to place the order. You should always include your membership number, if applicable, and choose the payment method you prefer. Submitting the order form will generate an email receipt sent to the email address on the order form. Do not submit an order twice and ensure your email address is entered correctly. Remember to save a copy of your receipt.

Periodically, the list is updated to include additions or deletions from the list. Occasionally, the publisher will not have the book or publication in stock and this may cause a delay in delivery.

The Order Form

The order form is used to notify ATHS of your request. It also initiates the process to complete the order when submitted. Orders cannot be forwarded to the publisher until payment has been received or deposited. The order form must be filled out completely to ensure your purchases are processed as soon as possible. Your total amount due will be determined by the selections added to your shopping cart and the membership number entered on the form. ATHS Members enjoy a discount on book purchases.

The order form has two sections: 1) Top - pertains to the person placing the order and 2) Bottom - pertains to the address where the order is shipped to. If the address is the same, the bottom section of the order form is not used.

The following information MUST be accurate to ensure the order can be processed without delay:

1. Name
2. Complete Address
3. Membership Number (if applicable)
4. Ship To Address (if different than top section)
5. Method of Payment (use pull down menu to select method of payment)

Payment Methods

Debit ... (or) ... Credit Card Method

This process is actually two parts:1) Using a major credit card to purchase items on the Internet; or 2) Using a bank debit (from your bank checking account) to allow a money transfer to purchase items on the Internet. Either one is a personal decision you must make before purchasing items on the Internet. After you make the decision, you will be required to set up an Internet account with a service that handles these types of transactions. Once your account is established and verified, then you have the privilege of making purchases on the Internet. That is when you can visit the ATHS Bookstore and buy books. When selecting this payment method from the ATHS Bookstore, you will be directed to the PayPal website where you will send money by email to ATHS. Upon deposit of those funds, your order will be processed.

The full process will include:

• Deciding to use a major credit card or your debit bank checking account to transfer money;
• Setting up an Internet account to handle the money transactions, see PayPal Help for assistance;
• Visiting the ATHS Bookstore web site to review the book list or select items for purchase;
• Checking your shopping cart to ensure all your selected items are listed;
• Filling out the order form completely to include your membership number and payment method;
• Checking your email for a receipt of the purchase;
